Outdoor Training Retreat: Sept. 10-11

Instruction will be given by Moore Sensei and by Craig Caudill, founder of the Nature Reliance School. April 16-17 Seminar: The Energy and Healing Practices of Zen
by Shinjinkai on 04/06/11Shinjinkai in Chicago will host this seminar on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17, instructing practices handed down within the Rinzai Zen Buddhist lineage for working with the body-mind's subtle energetic system. Breathing and movement practices for health, well-being and meditative attainment will be instructed by Meido Moore Roshi, a Zen priest and holder of the Rinzai lineage. Schedule: 4-7 pm on Saturday, and 10am-1pm on Sunday. Optional instruction in zazen (Zen meditation) will be given Sunday morning at 9am. Suggested donation: 110.00 (donations of any size are welcome, however). Proceeds benefit Korinji, a Zen monastery (www.korinji.org). SEMINAR FLYER HERE. Japan Benefit Results
by Shinjinkai on 03/24/11Our March 20 Japan recovery benefit event was a tremendous success! Donations received totalled $1430.00, which has been passed on to the Red Cross. Thank you everyone for your energy and generosity!
Japan Disaster Relief: Memorial Ceremony and Benefit on March 20th
by Shinjinkai on 03/14/11Shinjinkai H.Q. will host a benefit event on Sunday, March 20th sponsored by the Korinji Foundaton (www.korinji.org) and the Chicago Zen Community (www.chicagozencommunity.org). Zazen (Zen meditation) will be conducted from 11:30am-12:45pm, followed by a Zen Buddhist memorial service at 1pm for the victims of the earthquake/tsunami in Japan. Shinjinkai Aikido students will practice from 1:30-2:30pm. Tea will be served afterward. A donation box will be present, and all donations received will be passed on to an appropriate relief agency. All are welcome for any part of this event.
