Shinjinkai’s Youth Aikido program focuses on children 8-15 years of age. The structure of classes is both energetic and disciplined with the goal of instilling three core principles:
Through cooperative games, exercises, basic Aikido techniques and other fun activities children learn to develop not just their bodies but also their minds, with a greater awareness of the world around them. Our training instills qualities and skills like:
- Responsibility and Discipline
- Sensitivity/Increased regard for others
Older children (generally ages 11-15) are challenged with more intensive instruction to prepare them for participation in our adult classes.
Our Youth Aikido program is a springboard for children to develop healthy lifestyles as adults. Our experienced instructors keep the atmosphere supportive and fun, and afety is the paramount concern at all times.
